Filmax picks up I’LL SEE YOU IN MY DREAMS director’s horror hostage thriller, SECUESTRADOS
The name Miguel Ángel Vivas might not ring any bells to the horror community, but it should. The man created one of my favorite shorts in the past decade called I’LL SEE YOU IN MY DREAMS. It is on the short film compilation SMALL GAUGE TRAUMA which everyone should pick up – I included a link at the bottom of this post to buy it through Amazon.com.
Variety reports that Filmax has acquired Miguel Ángel Vivas’s SECUESTRADOS (KIDNAPPED) for worldwide rights outside Spain and France. SECUESTRADOS tells the tale of three Eastern-European criminals breaking into a home in a Madrid gated community, holding the family hostage in its own home, and forcing the father to empty his credit cards. But the family fights back — brutally.
SECUESTRADOS is a highly realistic thriller, with snatches of horror and echoes of ‘The Strangers’ and ‘Funny Games,’ but portraying a more physical than psychological violence,” said Borja Pena, who produces SECUESTRADOS for Vaca with Emma Lustres.
The film is produced by Vaca Films (who produced Spain’s Goya award winning 2009 hit, Cell 211), in collaboration with Madrid-based Blur Producciones and France’s La Fabrique 2.
No word yet on US distribution. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if it hit the festival circuit in North America this Fall. Here is to hoping it plays at Austin’s Fantastic Fest

Can I just say that of a relief to seek out someone who in fact knows what theyre preaching about on-line. You actually have learned to bring a problem to light making it critical. The best way to must check out this and appreciate this side from the story. I cant think youre not more well-known since you also certainly develop the gift.
