‘DELIVER US FROM EVIL’ Trailer from the Director of ‘SINISTER’
There has been some decent buzz on director Scott Derrickson‘s Deliver Us From Evil, the follow-up of Sinister. One of the rumors is that Sony thought it was so strong and after seeing what 2013’s box office earnings were for The Conjuring they bumped the release date from January 16, 2015 to July 2, 2014. Derrickson has delivered two films that have scared the mainstream with not only Sinister but The Exorcism of Emily Rose.
Here’s the official synopsis of the film:
New York police officer Ralph Sarchie (Eric Bana), struggling with his own personal issues, begins investigating a series of disturbing and inexplicable crimes. He joins forces with an unconventional priest (Edgar Ramírez), schooled in the rituals of exorcism, to combat the frightening and demonic possessions that are terrorizing their city. Inspired by the book, which details Sarchie’s bone-chilling real-life cases.

While there seems to be some potential, that really doesn’t feel like a trailer. It is more of a scene. Again, this is a bit obvious that Sony is trying to cash in on The Conjuring‘s marketing campaign as you may remember the “clap” scene was one of the first things people saw.
Here’s an International trailer that seems to be more in line with what a trailer is:
