Ti West and Sara Paxton Talk ‘THE INNKEEPERS’ in new Video

I feel that I have talked ad nauseam about my love for Ti West‘s goofy ghost story The Innkeepers.  Equal parts character study and old-fashioned thrills, the film is a slight departure from the tension driven satanic story that West gave us with House of the Devil.  Some critics feel the story is too thin or that the scares are too soft.  However, after initially seeing it at Fantastic Fest last September, I can honestly say that I cant wait to see it on the big screen once again.  If only for the simple fact to hear the subtle sound design and the amazing score by Jeff Grace (Stakeland) on the big screen once again.  The Innkeepers gets a limited theatrical release starting tomorrow, February 3.  Below you can hear the director and his star discuss how they approached the film and hear their anecdotes from on-set.

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
