The Director of THE WICKER MAN is turning the Cult Film into a Trilogy

Robin Hardy, the director of the original cult film The Wicker Man is on the brink of releasing his sequel The Wicker Tree.  The film premieres at the Fantasia Film Festival this week.  While in Montreal for the film, the director revealed plans to begin filming a third entry in the series this week!  No word on what the story or title will be, but Bloody-Disgusting was able to land the breaking news.  For those who are only aware of the horrendous (yet, oh so funny) Neil LaBute remake starring the always amusing Nic Cage, the 1973 Wicker Man is actually a very intriguing little film that featured an investigator sent to an island that includes bizarre rituals, weird sing-alongs, and Christopher Lee in a great wig.  For those who are initiated into the film’s cult, check it out before the sequel The Wicker Tree is released later this year.

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.

Together with every little thing that seems to be developing within this specific subject material, a significant percentage of points of view tend to be relatively radical. Nonetheless, I am sorry, because I do not give credence to your entire suggestion, all be it exciting none the less. It appears to me that your remarks are actually not completely rationalized and in actuality you are generally your self not even thoroughly certain of your assertion. In any case I did enjoy reading through it.
