Rob Zombie Brings Us THE LORDS OF SALEM
Forget The Blob remake. Forget Tyrannosaurus Rex. Though those have all been on the mind of musician turned director Rob Zombie, it is a story of witchcraft that will be his next project. The Lords of Salem is set in “contemporary Salem, where the inhabitants receive a demonic visit from a 300-year old coven of witches.” Besides handling the directing duties, Zombie will also be writing the script. This sounds like an interesting idea. I almost wish it was a period piece set during the original Salem witch-hunt trial, just so that I could see Zombie do an old gothic period piece. Though, given the premise, I am sure there will be some flashbacks detailing the history of this coven of witches. The film will be made through Haunted Films, who is giving Zombie “total control over the script, casting and final cut.” Once the director heard that, “I said I’m in.” Look for more info on the project as it becomes available.
