New ‘EXPENDABLES 2’ Clip Delivers Some Motorcycle Flying Action

In 2010, we were treated to what should have been an 80’s and 90’s action fan’s wet-dream.  For many, including myself, The Expendables ended up being a popcorn movie experience that came across as far less inspired than the over-the-top – there’s a Stallone joke for you – spectacle that we had hoped for.  Considering how amazing Stallone’s previous Rambo entry was in 2008 makes it all the more disappointing.  Now with Simon West (Con Air) sitting in the director’s chair and coming off an impressive remake with last year’s The Mechanic, fans will hopefully see all the action stars we love in a film that does justice to their famous names and now grizzled faces.  MTV has landed a new clip from The Expendables 2 which has me quite giddy for the mayhem that will be released in theaters on August 17 (NEXT FRIDAY!).  If this clip is any indication of the film, then I think myself and many others are going to receive the ass-kicking that we were wanting from the first film.

Mr. Church reunites the Expendables for what should be an easy paycheck, but when one of their men is murdered on the job, their quest for revenge puts them deep in enemy territory and up against an unexpected threat.

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
