Jessica Biel Better Watch Her Back in this New Poster for ‘THE TALL MAN’

Even though it stars a fairly prominent young Hollywood actress and is directed by a recent legend in French horror (Pascal Laugier), I had my doubts whether or not American audiences would be given the opportunity to see The Tall Man on the big-screen.  However, I do have my occasional moments of being wrong (my wife would tell you it happens more than occasionally).  In this case though I really don’t mind being wrong since it will benefit both myself and the horror community.  It seems that Image Entertainment will be releasing Laugier’s follow-up to the gory masterpiece MartyrsThe Tall Man will hit theaters on August 31.  If you need more proof that it really is heading our way check out the poster Bloody-Disgusting was able to exclusively nab for the film.  The mixed reviews that came out of Austin during its premiere at SXSW earlier this year isn’t going to sway me from having this film high on my anticipation list for this fall. Check out the poster below.

In an isolated, slowly dying mining town, children are vanishing without a trace – abducted, the townsfolk whisper, by a mysterious entity known locally as “The Tall Man.” Town nurse Julia Denning (Biel) seems skeptical… until her young David disappears in the middle of night. Frantic to rescue the boy, Julia lives every parent’s darkest nightmare in this twisting, shock-around-each-corner thriller from acclaimed director Pascal Laugier.

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
