James Wan Will Be Scaring Audiences Twice Now In 2013 With ‘THE CONJURING’ & ‘INSIDIOUS 2’
I think it’s safe to say that James Wan isn’t going to be going anywhere anytime soon; which I’m perfectly okay with if you ask me. Wan, who made a name for himself kicking off the Saw franchise, quickly graduated from that series following the initial film and has since developed a number of solid genre films. Some of those films unfortunately failed to make it on most people’s radars (Death Sentence, Dead Silence), but one of his films certainly made an impact on audiences and critics alike. Insidious made over $97 million worldwide and received glowing reviews stating it has some of the scariest images seen in a horror film in years. It was only a matter of time before a sequel would come along and continue the story of a family struggling with a young boy who is haunted – as the slogan stated, “It’s not the house that is haunted.” I just never would have expected the film would get released so soon and in a year that already has another James Wan film coming out. Insidious Part 2 – the official title – will begin shooting this coming January and is set for release August 30, 2013. That is a month after Wan’s The Conjuring is set to scare audiences! Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, and Lin Shaye are all scheduled to come back for the sequel. There’s no word on how the story will follow what happened at the end of the original. Feel free to speculate on how you think the story will shape up in the comments below.
