‘ELVIRA’ Blu-Ray from Cinespectral Films is Cancelled

While there has been no official statement about this release , some serious doubts have come up regarding Cinespectral FIlms’ Blu-Ray release of Elvira: Mistress of the Dark and whether it will ever hit the consumer’s hands. We were the first ones to publish the news last October and feel it necessary to bring the recent developments to the attention of our readers.

Cinespectral had announced some delays with the manufacturing of the mediabook earlier this year due to failing some quality checks. Keep in mind, this release was only coming out via mediabook, with three different variants. Blu-Ray.com forums started becoming very active. Some users requested pictures of the release and they were provided. However, Cinespectral announced that a statement would be made on Monday, July 31st. No update was made via their Facebook on Monday and Elvira fans started getting worried. Many started filing claims to PayPal requesting a refund. It got even more troubling when Cinespectral started deleting posts.

This morning (on Tuesday, August 1st), all posts from Cinespectral on Facebook have been deleted. However, as I was writing this story, Cinespectral released the following statement from their Facebook page.

While this is very disappointing to hear, it is something that has been feared for a few months. Not only is the release (and the Hell Comes to Frogtown release) cancelled but Cinespectral Films will no longer exist with in a couple of weeks. There are rumors that a company will be releasing the set so it will see the light of day. For now, I’m sorry to see Cinespectral dissolve before they could even get a release published.

You’ll just need to decide if you want to file a PayPal claim or wait for Cinespectral to initiate the refund. We will bring more news if this set is acquired elsewhere.
