New Poster Reminds Us Texas Loves Chainsaws and Now 3D

In an attempt to not feel like another remake, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D is presenting itself as a direct sequel to Tobe Hooper’s 1974 horror classic.  The problem with this is the clear fact that the man himself, Tobe Hooper, already did this in 1986.  Besides that pretty big fact, I’m still trying to wash the taste out of my mouth from The Thing and Fright Night reboots/remakes/prequels. I doubt that John Luessenhop new “sequel” will help.  The one positive aspect of this film is some of the original cast members have decided to come back to pop out at you in 3D.  Bill Moseley, Gunnar Hansen, Tobe Hooper, and others will be seen in theaters next Oct. 5, 2012.  For now, enjoy the non-3D poster seen below.

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
