Kino is Releasing NEEDFUL THINGS on Blu-Ray
Kino Lorber must have some sort of device in my brain. I grew up with F/X and FX2 and they previously announced those are coming to Blu-Ray. Now, they are releasing a film that I think is one of the better Stephen King adaptations, Needful Things on Blu-Ray.

There are already some fans asking if the extended cut (commonly referred to as the TV version) will be included. While Kino has stated that the TV rights are with someone else, they are trying to acquire them. It would be great to have that alternate version which includes almost an extra hour of footage.

Many people claim that Needful Things is a sub-par film. Maybe I’m a little bias considering the novel was one of my first Stephen King books and I distinctly remember having the video poster on my bedroom wall but I have always loved the way the film looks. The production design down to the local, it always seemed like the definitive Castle Rock town. Add in Max von Sydow really playing into his role, the film might not be perfect but it is a hell of a lot of fun.
While the date hasn’t been announced, we know the film will be released on Blu-Ray in June 2015.
