Amsterdam Clothing Store Parodies ‘AMERICAN PSYCHO’ and Modern Hipsters to Perfection
A couple days ago, a short film was published on YouTube that features some dudes sporting fancy stashes, beards, clean cut hipster-dos and tattoos parodying the 2000 film adaptation American Psycho. If you haven’t seen it, I have included it below. Sit back and enjoy and come back here to hear why I think it is amazing.

So, what did you think? I love it. The company behind the short is called Flickering Wall. Get this, they were hired by European clothing company Denham to make this for promotion of something calle ‘Blue Yard’ Denham Pop-Up Store & Cinema a few days back in Berlin. While you have probably seen many parodies of scenes from the film American Psycho, including one with Huey Lewis & Weird Al, this one doesn’t really satirize the film but more or less hits the same notes of the ideas and satirization made by American Psycho (the book & the film). Trading in Wall Street yuppies with hipster dudes worried about how well groomed their beards are, how their jeans look and just overall appearance. Listen, looking good is one thing but this hits the nail on the motherfuckin’ head with hipsters. Ugh, hipsters.
Bravo to the filmmakers on this one. I think Bret Easton Ellis & Mary Harron would be proud.
