Tobe Hooper Casting for DJINN

Horror icon Tobe Hooper (Texas Chainsaw Massacre) is in pre- production of his new movie Djinn, and horror fans are excited. This movie has been on many most anticipated lists and now two people have been cast to join the film. The movie follows a couple returning to their home from America to discover ancient evil awaits them. Read more after the jump to find about the cast members and the synopsis of the film.

Variety reported that Khalid Laith (The Devil’s Double) and Razane Jammal (Carlos) are both set to star in the film. Djinn is the sophomore effort from film company Imagenation Abu Dhabi and will be directed by Hooper and written by David Tully. Fans have long awaited the return of Hooper and it’s nice to see the project making some lead way.

Djinn is about a young Emirati couple that return home from America to find their new hi rise apartment is above an old fishing village that contains an ancient evil known as Djinn. Set in 2015 the occupants of the apartment are not even to mention the name in fear that it may bring the evil back. For some reason I think the evil will return in a big way.

The film starts shooting this week in certain locations in Dubai and already has cast members of Aiysha Hart, Carole Abboud, Paul Luebke and May El Calamawy. Look for more updates on this film as we get closer to its 2012 release.
