Giallo Inspired Film, AMER, Heading to BluRay in UK
Bruno Forzani and Helene Cattet have made a beautiful and striking tribute to the Italian “Giallo” genre with Amer. Although the murder mystery that follows a girl through three different times in her life has not received a proper U.S. release (it did show at a few festivals including SXSW), our friends across the pond won’t have to wait long to get their hands on it. Twitch Film is reporting that Anchor Bay UK is releasing Ameron BluRay on January 7th. Hopefully a stateside BluRay will follow. For those unfamiliar with this film that has received much praise this year for its gorgeous use of cinematography and music, I have posted the poster and trailer beyond the break. Check it out!
“Giallo” is a term that means yellow in Italian. In Italy, many novels that were released through Mondadori Publishing were designed using their trademark yellow background on the covers. A few staples of these popular stories include sex, crime, a masked killer, plot twists, and grisly murders. . . the good stuff of horror. Below, you can find the proposed cover-art for the DVD, the theatrical poster, and a trailer that uses the amazing music of Stelvio Cipriani.
