Based on a New Video, THE WALKING DEAD Is Not Just Another “Zombie Tale”

As you can tell from Frank Darabont explaining to you in a new 17 minute behind the scenes featurette, The Walking Dead is not just another “zombie tale.”  The emphasis is clearly placed on the characters and the choices they make in the situation they are now forced to deal with.  As you most likely know by now, Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead comic is coming to TV this October 31 (Halloween night) on AMC.  Under the direction of acclaimed director Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, The Mist), the show will focus on Rick, a sheriff who wakes up in a hospital to find that the world has been taken over by zombies.  In an effort to locate his wife and son, Rick is forced to venture out and survive amongst the undead.  In his search he encounters different groups of people trying to survive in the now chaotic world.  Those who have read the series are pretty excited about the show, simply based on the source material.  For those unfamiliar with the comic series and who have hesitations regarding yet another “zombie tale,” watch the video that is beyond the break.  It might convince you otherwise.

The amazing 17 minute long behind the scenes featurette, has exclusive interviews with creator Robert Kirkman, Frank Darabont, Greg Nicotero, and many of the faces you will encounter in season one of the show.  Season one will be a 6 episode season.  Yet if the show does well, season two will expand to 13 episodes.  Based on what I can see in the video below, I can only hope that this show will continue for many more seasons.
