Oscar Winners Anthony Hopkins and Helen Mirren* are spellbinding in this provocative story about the making of one of cinema’s most iconic films. Plagued by both a reckless ego and nagging self-doubt, Hollywood legend Alfred Hitchcock (Hopkins) becomes obsessed with a grisly murder story that the studios won’t back. Determined, he risks his reputation, his home and even the love of his wife Alma (Mirren), as he sets out to make the film. Ultimately, Hitch wins Alma over, and the two collaborate to create an enduring masterpiece – Psycho. Also starring Scarlett Johansson, Toni Collette and Jessica Biel, Hitchcock is “a knockout from start to finish” (Rex Reed, New York Observer).

After a tragic family accident, Mark (Joshua Close, The Exorcism of Emily Rose) and Mary Hughes (Selma Blair, The Fog) retreat with their son to the family’s vacation home in the woods. The Hughes are awoken early the next morning by their new neighbors, Bobby (James D’Arcy, Hitchcock) and Jane (Rachel Miner) Sakowski, who invite themselves over for dinner. What starts out as merely an awkward evening turns sinister as Bobby’s questions become intrusive and his envy of the Hughes becomes more aggressive. As matters escalate, it becomes clear that there’s no limit to what Bobby will do to get what Mark has, and ultimately the Hughes’ will to survive will be put to the test. Featuring performances that are both mesmerizing and unforgettable, IN THEIR SKIN is a heart-stopping home-invasion thriller that you won’t soon forget.

A cult classic of gooey greatness, The Blob follows the havoc wreaked on a small town by an outer-space monster with neither soul nor vertebrae, with Steve McQueen (The Great Escape) playing the rebel teen who tries to warn the residents about the jellylike invader. Strong performances and ingenious special effects help The Blob transcend the schlock sci-fi and youth delinquency genres from which it originates. Made outside of Hollywood by a maverick film distributor and a crew whose credits mostly comprised religious and educational shorts, The Blob helped launch the careers of McQueen and composer Burt Bacharach, whose bouncy title song is just one of this film’s many unexpected pleasures.

On Blu-ray for the first time ever, this digitally remastered edition of Who Framed Roger Rabbit practically jumps off the screen with its brilliant picture, rich sound – and dangerous curves. It’s 1947 Hollywood, and Eddie Valiant (Bob Hoskins), a down-on-his-luck detective, is hired to find proof that Marvin Acme, gag factory mogul and owner of Toontown, is playing hanky-panky with femme fatale Jessica Rabbit, wife of Maroon Cartoon superstar, Roger Rabbit. When Acme is found murdered, all fingers point to Roger, who begs the Toon-hating Valiant to find the real evildoer. Complete with hours of bonus features – including three digitally restored Roger Rabbit shorts, this multi Oscar winner (best film editing, best sound effects editing, best visual effects, special achievement in animation direction, 1988) is pure magic in hi-def Blu-ray.
