‘THE LAST EXORCISM PART II’ Trailer Has Arrived Along With a New Promo Image
It looks like you may have to settle for a minor trade-off in the upcoming The Last Exorcism Part II. Yes, it seems they have dropped the found footage angle, but in its place they now have a ton of great locations like the streets of New Orleans, an old halfway house, and churches occupied by possessed priests. If all that wasn’t enough, there are a ton of dark figures lurking in the shadows and behind windows. I mean A LOT OF THEM. It’s kind of bizarre that they spotlight this new element so much in this trailer for the upcoming sequel since nowhere in the original film do you have such a visual device. All in all, the trailer didn’t really possess my soul or mind . . . or any other part of me. It more or less looks relatively like every other possession film I have seen thus far. The only thing that I will applaud it for doing is not revealing any of the “exorcisms” in this trailer. Just when you are about to see one begin they choose to cut it off. A round of applause is deserved for not revealing that. The Last Exorcism Part II hits theaters on March 1.
In an interesting turn of events, CBS Films has released a new “promo” image for the film which is TEN TIMES BETTER THAN THAT SHITTY POSTER THAT WAS UNVEILED LAST WEEK! Maybe this will be the image used for the second poster. Here’s hoping.
Both the trailer and image can be found below.
Continuing where the first film left off, teenage Nell Sweetzer is found dirty and terrified in the woods having just escaped a demon ritual in which a cult helped her give birth to a demon baby. Confused and scared, Nell is examined by doctors but she doesn’t remember much about the previous few months except that as a result of everything, her family is now dead. She is moved into Davreaux – a girls’ halfway house in New Orleans, where she will try to put her life back together with the help of the therapist, Frank Merle. She even begins to date a boy named Chris and starts a job at a local hotel. But something doesn’t feel right to Nell. She is being sought after by the demon who possessed her in the first LAST EXORCISM. It wants Nell, but in a different way than before…
