‘V/H/S’ Poster Tracks In
After directing the subtle, yet creepy A Horrible Way to Die and blowing us away last year at Fantastic Fest with You’re Next (which won’t be released until later this year, but you can read the review here), director Adam Wingard is definitely a director we have our eye on. When we heard he would be contributing to an anthology film called V/H/S with Glenn McQuaid (I Sell the Dead), David Bruckner (The Signal), Ti West (The House of Devil) and indie darling, Joe Swanberg, our interest was piqued.
While Michael caught a screening of the film at this year’s True/False film festival in Columbia (read the review here), I still can’t wait to see it. It looks like Movies.com got the exclusive look at the poster from Magnet Releasing. While we still wait for a trailer, check out the synopsis and the poster below and make sure this is on your to watch list. The film will be available via VOD on August 31st and roll into theaters on October 5th.
Synopsis:
When a group of petty criminals is hired by a mysterious party to retrieve a rare piece of found footage from a rundown house in the middle of nowhere, they soon realize that the job isn’t going to be as easy as they thought. In the living room, a lifeless body holds court before a hub of old television sets, surrounded by stacks upon stacks of VHS tapes. As they search for the right one, they are treated to a seemingly endless number of horrifying videos, each stranger than the last.
Bringing together some of the top filmmakers in the game today, this wickedly conceived horror anthology sends the viewer through a gauntlet of suspense, terror, shock, and downright brutality—instantly distinguishing itself from a sea of lackluster found-footage horror flicks. The diverse and deviously creative minds behind V/H/S shatter any preconceived notions about the genre, making it feel inventive and captivating once again.
