‘The Darkest Hour’ Poster Will Light Up Your Holidays

Nothing says Christmas like an alien invasion flick . . . right? Yeah, I thought not.  Heading to theaters on Dec. 25, 2011, is the sci-fi film starring Emile Hirsch, The Darkest Hour. Even with a talented director Timur Bekmambetov (Nightwatch, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) producing and an up-and-coming new director at the helm, Chris Gorak (Right at Your Door), I still can’t get too excited for this flick.  It does have a clever gimmick going for it: We can’t see the invaders except when they are near electrical devices.  Since I like the people behind the film I’m going to try to stay positive about this.  Until the movie invades theaters this Christmas, you can enjoy the new poster seen below.

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
